Eileen Tierney is the first student to receive this scholarship from Richland High School. During her high school career, she was on the soccer and basketball teams for 4 years each and played tennis for 2 years, earning 8 varsity letters.
Eileen is a highly organized individual, which undoubtedly helps her to manage her many responsibilities. In addition to sports, she tracked 500 hours per year in Leadership activities as ASB Treasurer and as a member of Executive Council. Other activities included planning a Veteran’s Day Assembly, Talent Show, Freshman Orientation and many others. She was also active in SHOUT (Students Helping Others Understand Tobacco) and Spanish club.
Besides her school activities, Eileen has been an active member of her church youth group, including serving as a lector and volunteer for multiple projects. She has also spent many workshop hours assisting middle school athletes with weight lifting and speed training as well as instructing young girls during Summer Youth Basketball Camp.
As she prepares to graduate, Eileen currently maintains a GPA of 3.937.
Eileen is presently undecided as to where and what she will study. However, her desire to seek a college degree has been inspired by her teachers, coaches and parents and she is certain that educating others will be a focus of her college studies and life.
