AJ Templeton will graduate from Kennewick High where he participated in football, track & field and baseball, earning 8 varsity letters. As a Junior, he was a Captain of the football team, and as a senior, he was selected for that honor for both the Football and Track & Field Teams. During his 4-year Varsity football career, AJ experienced season ending injuries in both his Junior and Senior years. But he was able to keep perspective, continue to work hard, and realize that the setbacks were just temporary. And now – he has learned that he will have an opportunity to play the sport he loves in college.
In the classroom, AJ has challenged himself by not only taking advanced placement classes, but next month when he graduates, he will do so with a full International Baccalaureate diploma and he will do so with a 4.0 GPA. He served on the student advisory board for the District Superintendent and was one of two students representing the Kennewick School District at the Leadership Tri Cities Conference.
AJ’s work ethic translates to all aspects of his life. Whether volunteering for Operation Christmas Child or serving at the Union Gospel Mission, AJ exemplifies kindness towards others. AJ has been on the Student Leadership Team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for the past 4 years and was described as setting the example of being a servant-leader.
